Donato Giancola (born 1967) is an American painter/illustrator known for narrative realism in science-fiction and fantasy, and he was raised in Colchester, Vermont.

He studied painting at Syracuse University (after initially majoring in electrical engineering at the University of Vermont) and has built a long career creating meticulously crafted, story-driven images in both oil and drawing media.

His work has earned major recognition in the field, including a Hugo Award for Best Professional Artist and multiple Chesley Awards.
